Natalie Marquette, Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT)
Natalie grew up in the beautiful Ottawa Valley area of Ontario. She graduated from St. Lawrence College in Kingston in 2012 with an Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Technology. After working for 2 years in Ontario, she adventurously moved west to Alberta, and after working for a few more years in a small animal clinic in Calgary, she joined our clinic in September of 2016. Natalie has proven herself to be a knowledgeable and capable RVT that enjoys the variety of clients and animals seen here at our mixed animal practice. She currently resides in Crossfield with her significant other (Scott), 2 dogs (Titan and Mulder), and 5 (yes 5!!) cats (Cheeto, Spook, Turbo, Garry and Scully). Her areas of interest in practice include Anesthesia, Dentistry, and Surgery, and her hobbies include wild game hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, collecting cats (apparently!), and carrying our clinic cat, Thomas, around!
Kelly Basawa, VMR, AHT
Kelly grew up in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, and moved to Edmonton after high school to attend Grant MacEwan College. She received her certificate as a legal secretary and worked in a legal office as a real estate conveyancer for many years before deciding to make a major career change and follow her passion for working with animals. Upon completion of the Veterinary Medical Receptionist program at Olds College in 2015, Kelly did her practicum with us and then was hired as well. Due to her high grades, she was then accepted into the highly competitive Olds College Animal Health Technology program (online learning format). She was a diligent worker that juggled school and work impressively. She finished this diploma in the spring of 2017, completed her practicum with us, and we are very happy that she accepted a full time AHT position with us starting in August, 2017.
Kelly resides in Cochrane with her husband, Bill, and their two dogs, Ireland and Cinnamon. We are very lucky to have Kelly as part of our team, as she is truly an ace when it comes to customer service, organization, and problem solving. We are lucky to be able to boast about her skills as a veterinary technologist now as well! She will be writing her National board exam, the VTNE, this fall, and once past that hurdle, will achieve official Registered Veterinary Technologist status. She is always friendly and ready to help our clients to have a positive experience here at the Cremona Veterinary Clinic.
